For peace of mind and to satisfy conditions laid out in our church insurance with Ecclesiastical, we at St Paternus, North Petherwin in Cornwall have our lightning strike system regularly checked by an approved contractor.

This year, it was reported that some remedial work be undertaken before a certificate could be issued and the PCC decided to obtain a second quote for the necessary work. Having recently had cause to visit the National Churches Trust website I became aware of MaintenanceBooker and decided to approach them and ask for quotations. I found their website very easy to navigate and understand and a request was logged.

Three competitive quotations were received and Rafferty Lightning Protection were awarded the work.

The MaintenanceBooker site also had a link to the National Churches Trust grants website which I visited and applied for a grant to help with the costs. My application was successful and we were awarded a Preventative Maintenance Micro-Grant.

I found the whole process seamless and would recommend all churches to use the facility.
